Sarah Attends “Know Your Worth” BRUMWIM Event

Have you been to a BRUMWIM event yet? If not, we think you might be missing out!

Our Founder Sarah attended a sold-out event last month, which championed female leaders in the Midlands. Bringing together over 60 local women in Birmingham's creative and marketing industries, the "Know Your Worth" event featured an expert panel of powerhouse women sharing practical advice, insights, and lived experiences.

Led by Fran Nolan, founder of creative content agency Tribera, the event provided a platform for women to come together and tackle critical issues, including imposter syndrome, pay inequality and career progression roadblocks. The event also featured discussions on breaking barriers, pushing boundaries and for women to demand what they deserve in the workplace.

The event's lineup included Sally Hawkesford, Director and founder of SHC Digital; Donna Faria, Head of Marketing and Communications for NHS Supply Chain; and keynote speaker Bex Galligan, best-selling author of It Pays to Be Happy and Head of People Experience at Wagamama.

Who are BRUMWIM?

BRUMWIM was launched by Fran out of frustration with the lack of meaningful support for professional women in the Midlands, as many initiatives are overshadowed by London and Manchester.

After kicking off in 2024, BRUMWIM continues to demand real change in the Midlands, uniting some of Birmingham's most influential female marketing leaders to share practical advice, insights, and lived experiences with a growing community.

What are BRUMWIM's Objectives?

1.    Champion Gender Equality - Advocate for equal opportunities and representation for women across Birmingham's industries.

2.    Promote Birmingham's Marketing & Creative Industries - Elevate Birmingham's creative sector by showcasing local talent, encouraging creative innovation, and driving visibility.

3.    Build Confidence - Empower women to overcome barriers such as access to the industry, the pay gap, career progression challenges, and the pressures of returning from maternity leave.

After attending the event, Sarah said, "I had an amazing time at the Know Your Worth event - the talks were incredibly insightful and it was an excellent feeling to walk away with a renewed sense of confidence and collective pride in how far the talented women I met at the event have come. The Midlands has some of the best talent there is on offer, and I'm so proud to be a part of this exciting new community".
